In line with China’s national strategy for high-quality education development, Xu Qiang, President of CDUT, led a delegation to Wuhan from August 5 to 6 for a series of institutional visits and exchanges. The delegation included Hu Bing, Deputy Party Secretary of CDUT, and Tang Qingli, Head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of the Sichuan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision at CDUT, Deputy Party Secretary, and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of CDUT.
Over the two days, the delegation visited the Changjiang Water Resources Commission (CWRC) under the Ministry of Water Resources, China Yangtze Three Gorges Corporation, and Changjiang Institute of Survey, Planning, Design and Research Corporation (CISPDRC), as well as the Yangtze River Geophysical Technology Innovation Practice Base. President Xu also delivered an academic lecture at CISPDRC, and attended the inauguration ceremony of the CDUT Hubei Alumni Service Center.
On the morning of August 5, the delegation toured the exhibition hall of CWRC before holding talks with the commission’s leadership. The meeting was attended by Deputy Directors Hu Jiajun and Xu Quanxi.

President Xu outlined CDUT’s recent progress under its Mount Everest Talents Recruitment Project and Mount Everest Scientific Research Project, expressing the hope that the visit would pave the way for mutually beneficial cooperation.

Hu Bing underscored the need for collaboration in response to national priorities, particularly in resource sharing, and extended an invitation for CWRC’s leaders, experts, and scholars to join CDUT’s upcoming anniversary celebrations. Tang Qingli briefed the hosts on CDUT’s work in hydrological ecology and environmental protection. In turn, Hu Jiajun provided an overview of CWRC’s operations, while Xu Quanxi thanked CDUT for its longstanding support. Fan Xuanmei, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Geohazard Prevention and Geoenvironment Protection, presented the laboratory’s profile and its research achievements in disaster mitigation.

On the morning of August 6, Xu and his delegation visited China Yangtze Three Gorges Corporation, for discussions, with its Vice General Manager Wang Dianchang attending the meeting.

The two sides exchanged views on university–enterprise cooperation and technological innovation.

Addressing alumni and guests at the inauguration of the Hubei Alumni Service Center, President Xu conveyed his greetings on behalf of CDUT. He commended the alumni in the Hubei for their enduring unity with their alma mater and their contributions to advancing its “Double First-Class” development goals.
