On the evening of May 26, CDUT hosted the 2023 Commendation Conference for Communist Youth League’s work and the finals of the 6th “Youthful Rhythm” Dance Competition at the Sports Field of the Western Sector, Chengdu Campus. The event was attended by Liu Qingyou, Secretary of the Party Committee; Xu Qiang, President of CDUT; Wang Dongdong, Secretary of the Chengdu Municipal Communist Youth League Committee; Hu Bing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Chen Kexian, Member of the Standing Committee and Minister of the Organization Department of the Party Committee; along with relevant department heads and leaders and teachers from multiple colleges. Over 6,000 CDUT students participated in the event.

The conference conducted the 2023 commendation ceremony for the Communist Youth League. Attending leaders presented awards to the recipients, including the CDUT Youth May 4th Medal, Youth May 4th Medal (Collective), May 4th Red Flag Youth League Committee, Outstanding Student Union, Outstanding Youth League Members, Outstanding Youth League Cadres, Outstanding Student Association Leaders, Top Ten Student Associations, Outstanding Student Association Advisors, and the 2023 Chengdu Top 100 Associations.






At the commendation ceremony, representatives of outstanding students Xiu Yuxin, Peng Xiaobin, and Bo Chao took to the stage to share their experiences. They recounted their volunteer service journeys, telling moving and unforgettable stories that highlighted the responsibility and mission of “igniting youth, passing on warmth.” Teacher representative Li Mengying vividly narrated stories from the CDUT Vision Tutors program and earthquake disaster prevention and relief efforts, demonstrating the volunteer spirit of “caring and nurturing, building dreams and growing” and the pioneering spirit of “Do not fall behind anyone, and strive to be the first.”
At the finals of the "Youthful Rhythm" Dance Competition, ten colleges delivered spectacular performances, integrating emotions and narratives into their dances, showcasing the responsibilities and commitments of the younger generation in the pursuit of Chinese modernization. After intense competition, the College of Communication Science and Art won the Grand Prize with their performance "We." The School of Humanities and Law's "Life Monument" and the Business School's "Blossoming Youth" took home First Prizes. The Yibin Campus' "Spirit of Legacy," the College of Mathematics and Physics' "Memories of Gentle Winds and Rains," and the College of Nuclear Technology and Automation Engineering's "Historical Inheritance" received Second Prizes. The College of Earth Sciences' "The Age of Awakening," the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering's "The Night Lamp Bearer," the College of Environment and Civil Engineering's "Ode to Qiu Jin," and the College of Geography and Planning's "Endless Blue Sky Dream" were awarded Third Prizes.
Gathering strength through song and forging ahead with the melody, we embark on a new journey together, aiming towards the Second Centenary Goal, and collectively writing a glorious chapter in the synchronized progress of CDUT and our nation. The conference concluded with a special performance, "Our New Era," by the Voice of Green Choir from CDUT's student art troupe.
