On the afternoon of April 16th, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation agreement between Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) and Sichuan Resources Group (SCRG) was held in the sixth meeting room of the Yanhu Conference Hall of the university. Liu Qingyou, Secretary of the Party Committee of CDUT, and Luo Zhibo, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of SCRG, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Xu Qiang, President of CDUT, and Jiang Tao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman, and General Manager of SCRG, signed the strategic cooperation framework agreement on behalf of both parties. Zhou Zhongli, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University, Li Shirong, member of the Party Committee and Chief Engineer of SCRG, and Xue Hong, member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of SCRG, attended the ceremony. The meeting was chaired by Zhou Zhongli.

Liu Qingyou firstly extended his congratulations to SCRG for its notable accomplishments in recent years. Then he provided a succinct overview of the CDUT’s development trajectory, disciplinary strengths, and distinguishing features in teaching. In his speech, Liu emphasized the institution’s commitment to excellence in academic disciplines and highlighted its ongoing efforts to advance scientific research, bolster innovation capacities, and expedite the practical application of scientific breakthroughs, with the aim to actively support national strategies and local economic and social development. Moreover, Liu underscored the enduring history of collaboration between CDUT and SCRG, expressing hopes that the signing ceremony would serve as a catalyst for further expanding the breadth and depth of their cooperation. He stressed the importance of mutual benefit, resource sharing, and synergy in fostering a mutually advantageous partnership.

Luo Zhibo thanked the institution for its strong support for the reform and development of SCRG over the years. He mentioned that CDUT is one of the first batch of universities to construct “Double First-Class” disciplines in the country, accumulating a large number of excellent theoretical and applied achievements in geological disaster investigation and evaluation, major disaster mechanism research, and dynamic monitoring and early warning. The signing of this strategic cooperation agreement marks a new stage in the cooperation between the two parties and lays a more solid foundation for further cooperation. Luo expressed optimism that this enhanced partnership would elevate cooperation standards and amplify collaborative outcomes so that both parties can collectively foster more substantial contributions towards national advancement and rejuvenation.

Xu Qiang and Jiang Tao signed the strategic cooperation framework agreement on behalf of the two parties. According to the agreement, the two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in fields such as scientific and technological talents, technology, and industrial extension.
