Recently, CDUT’s Translation Research Team of Sichuan International Communication was approved as a high-level research team in philosophy and social sciences in Sichuan province (2024-2026). This marks the first provincial-level high-level research team in the field of foreign languages and literature in Sichuan province.
Led by Professor Zhang Jie from the College of Foreign Languages & Cultures, the Translation Research Team of Sichuan International Communication consists of seven members from the College of Foreign Languages & Cultures, who have extensive achievements and experience in translation and research. Relying on the Bashu Culture International Communication Research Center, a key research base for humanities and social sciences in Sichuan universities, and the international communication platform established by CDUT, the team has built a system encompassing theoretical research, translation practice, talent training, and community service. Focused on the theory of international communication translation, translation of contemporary China and Sichuan stories for international communication, and translation for major international events, the team is committed to becoming a highly regarded and influential high-level translation research team of international communication and a new type of think tank in China.
The staffing of the high-level research teams in philosophy and social sciences in Sichuan province is reshuffled every three year and are subject to dynamic management and a rank and yank system. In this selection for high-level research teams, nearly 40 teams from 33 universities across the province applied. After several rounds of selection and expert review, 5 teams were ultimately approved.
