CDUT's International Students Win a Second Prize in the 3rd Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Global Youth Talents
In order to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among international students in Chongqing and Sichuan and contribute to the building of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, the "Entrepreneurship in the West, Stay in Chengdu and Chongqing" 3rd Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Global Youth Talents (Competition) hosted by the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Sichuan Province, the Education Department of Sichuan Province, the Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security and the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission was successfully held at Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications on May 11th.
With their project "Geological Bright Lamp - A Leader in Visualization Technology for Transparent Digital Earth", a team of international students of Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) stood out from 309 registered project teams, successfully made it to the top ten in the international student category and then advanced to the finals where they eventually won a second prize. The project instructors, Associate Professor Jian Xingxiang and Associate Professor Qi Qiaomu, won the "Excellent Instructor Award" and CDUT won the "Excellent Organization Award". The team of CDUT has members of six international students and two Chinese students. They are Gordon Martins Richard Michel Thomas (Li Cha) from France, Md Mustahasim Billah from Bangladesh, Shakir Ullah (Li Feiyu), Khan Zahid Alam (Wang Long), Nawaz Mustafa (Khan) and Ali Safdar (Abu) from Pakistan, and Chinese students Deng Xinman and Tang Xinyu.

With a focus on the frontier of earth exploration technology, the project "Geological Bright Lamp - A Leader in Visualization Technology for Transparent Digital Earth" has overcome technical difficulties, launched a series of "Geological Bright Lamp" software with fully independent intellectual property rights and solved complex geological modeling problems in various circumstances, showing good generality and practicality.
Since the launch of the Competition in June 2022, the Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation, CDUT has actively mobilized and organized international students to participate and brought into full play the advantages of Chinese and foreign talents across disciplines and fields to form innovation synergy and fully manifest the advantageous disciplines and characteristics of CDUT. CDUT's outstanding results in the Competition have positively contributed to the promotion of people-to-people and academic exchanges between Chinese and foreign people in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.
