Professor Pu Shengyan's Team Wins the First Prize of China Industry-University-Research Collaboration Innovation Achievement Award
The 14th China Industry-University-Research Collaboration Innovation Conference (Conference) was held in Beijing on April 16th. Themed “New Era, New Journey, New Achievements”, the Conference explored the bottlenecks, countermeasures, new ideas and new ways in deep industry-university-research integration, to promote collaborative innovation and integrated development of industries, academia and research institutes across China. At the Conference, Lu Yongxiang, vice chairman of the 12th National People's Congress and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, sent a written message; Wan Gang, vice chairman of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and President of the China Association for Science and Technology, delivered a speech on site; Gu Shengzu, vice chairman of the 13th National Committee of the CPPCC and expert of the National Development Strategy Think Tank of Wuhan University, delivered a keynote speech, and Sun Yao, vice minister of education, and Xu Xiaolan, vice minister of industry and information technology, attended the Conference and delivered speeches. Wu Xiaoqing, member of the Standing Committee of the 13th National Committee of the CPPCC and former vice minister of environmental protection, presided over the Conference.

Wang Shuguo, president of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Ling Wen, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Song Hailiang, chairman of China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd., presented the successful experience and practices of integrated industry-university-research development separately from the educator, scientist and entrepreneur perspectives, which broadened the horizons of participants. Wang Jianhua, president of the China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association, introduced that the Conference used forms such as policy interpretation, keynote speeches, case analyses and exchanges and interactions to explore the bottlenecks, countermeasures, new ideas and new ways in deep industry-university-research integration and it is a conference for summarization, commendation, leading, promotion, study and exchange, and precise matchmaking.
Advanced units and individuals that contributed to deep industry-university-research integration in 2022 were commended at the Conference. The project Key Theory, Technology and Application for Collaborative Prevention and Control of Soil and Groundwater Pollution in Industrial Parks led by Professor Pu Shengyan's team at Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) won the First Prize of China Industry-University-Research Collaboration Innovation Achievement Award (Award). The project was mainly completed by Pu Shengyan, Luo Dongyuan, Li Juan, Ni Xinxin, Tang Yan, Li Bowen, et al., with CDUT as the first completion unit. The Award, established upon approval by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Office for Science & Technology Awards, plays an important role in constructing a market-oriented system for technological innovation in which enterprises are the main players.

In forms such as policy interpretation, keynote speeches, exchanges and interactions and project matchmaking, the Conference summarized, commended, led and promoted the collaborative innovation and integrated development of industries, academia and research institutes, improved the transformation and industrialization levels of sci-tech achievements and promoted the implementation of the strategy for invigorating China through science and education, the strategy on developing a quality workforce and the innovation-driven development strategy. The Conference was attended by about 1,000 frontline representatives from political, industrial, academic, research and financial sectors across China.
