Applied Nuclear Technology in Earth Science (Provincial Level)
  Research areas£ºapplied geological nuclear technology and other related areas, such as radiation geophysics, applied nuclear technology and applied geochemistry.
Continental Dynamics of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (Ministerial Level)
 

This laboratory was approved by the Ministry of Land and Resources in 2000. Its main research areas are: 3-Dimension structure of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau; the relationship between continental collision and mineral deposits; the geological records and environmental effects during the uplifting of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau; oil-gas bearing basin analysis and resources evaluation; Cenozoic orogeny around the Plateau and the coupling relationship with basins; geological hazard effects during the uplifting of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau as well as digital Plateau.

 Land and Resources Information Applied Technology (Ministerial Level)
  Research areas: ¡°3S¡± engineering and cartography, remote sensing image digitalizing and its applications, GIS and its applied technology, interference radar remote sensing technology, minerogenetic regulation and prognoses etc.
Geodetection and Information Technology (Provincial Level)
  Research areas: oil and gas geophysical exploration, solid mineral resource geophysical exploration, engineering and environmental geophysics, earth interior geophysics, environmental geochemical exploration, remote sensing and GIS, geo-processing digital simulation, non-linear mathematical geology, geological cartography and visual technology, etc.
Geological Hazard Prevention and Geological Environment Protection (Provincial Level)
 
  Research areas: fault activity evaluation, earthquake hazard analysis, stability analysis of soil and rock for important engineering projects, engineering projects evaluation, geological hazard evaluation and risk management, as well as new technology development of geological hazards prevention and geological environment protection.
Different Frame Distributed Network Parallel Computing (Provincial Level)
  The establishment of the laboratory was approved by Department of Education of Sichuan Province in 2001. The research areas of the laboratory are different frame distributed network parallel computing environment, vast sum of signal and information processing technology, parallel computing methods based on information transferring mechanism, and current parallel algorithms library.
Institute of Sedimentary Geology (Key Research Base)
  Research areas: reservoir sedimentalogy, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau geology, lithofacies and palaeogeography, sedimentary basin analysis, sequence stratigraphic geology, mineral deposit sedimentalogy, experimental and simulation sedimentalogy.
Diamond Film Laboratory (Key Research Base)
  Research areas: plasma technology and new materials. The lab focuses on the new material science and engineering like diamond film to develop new and high-tech products, such as diamond filmed knives and aiguilles.
